Ways I've Worm #3

For this "Ways I've Worn" I thought I'd show the different ways I've worn this neon jumper from Forever 21. It seems like I've always chosen quite a neutral palette to pair with this jumper, and probably quite right as it's such a bold colour. So when I bought this jumper way back in early 2012 somebody said to me that they only invest in classic pieces, as statement pieces go out of style so quickly and so are a waste of money. Well here I am, a year and a half later, still wearing this jumper and if anything, neon has been trending bigger than ever lately - go me jumping on the bandwagon before it even started ;) ;)

April 2013
fedora - forever 21 // shorts - levi jeans + diy // chain necklace - forever 21
Love my fedora so! Always a great way to accesorise a fairly simple outfit. Out of all the levi cut offs I own, these are by far my favourite. They probably cost me less than a fiver too. I really like this look and probably is my favourite out of the three.

June 2012
tshirt dress - h&m
This jumper is pretty loud all on it's own, so pairing it with a simple tshirt dress seemed like a pretty good idea! I also love neon yellow paired with grey, so as far as simple combinations go, I do like this one.

February 2012
leggings and skirt - h&m // wedges - ebay
So it was February back in the uk and extremely cold! So naturally I had to layer up - wearing two pairs of leggings, thick socks and boots (plus adding a leather jacket on top). Now I defiantly prefer the styling in the summer months, but you know, what can you do when it's snowing outside!

Looks of the Week #14

1//   Style Confessional
I adore Lucia's checkerboard top here! It's pretty cheap too from Karma clothing at only £5.99. Lucia styled it great with vintage levi's and a silver chain necklace. Something about chains and polo-necks is just so right!

2//   What I Wear
I really love this dress Shradha is wearing! I am actually awaiting a parcel of a similar kind of dress but checkerboard not dogtooth, I do love a bit of dogtooth though. Shradha is actually selling this dress on ebay, she must be cerazyyy, looks so nice with the black ankle boots she has paired it with.

3//   strutt
Charlene is nothing short of a genius with this combination! I still am very wary of trying out dungarees as I don't think I would suit them/style them right - but ahh this light wash pair paired with a white mesh top and some silver necklaces, uhmazing.

  4//   Fated to be Hated
The check shirt Bebe has tied around her waist is my favourite detail to this outfit. Nothing I could say would live up to Bebe's standard of writing- however, I adore the Western touches and the different tones of grey.

5//   rouge fox
Analisa is wearing such amazing shoes here! The fedora, the bag, the yellow nails, the red lip.. all such great ways to add the finishing touches to a cardigan and jean combo.

6//   V.E.
My love for mesh/fishnet tops continutes. Violet makes floral dungarees look edgy and cool with black accents and red lips.

Ways I've Worn #2

mesh top - h&m // similar one here & here
I love this mesh/fishnet top! I wish I had picked it up in black as well, will have to my on my next trip into Palma (thank god they have a h&m here in Mallora, life saver)

 March 2013
denim gillet - diy from ebay jacket // zip skirt - missguided
Loved this more in real life at the time than photographed here. Something just seems to be missing, looking back at it now.. or it just needs to be tweaked? Maybe bare legs and some matching denim shorts? double denim? haha maybe...

November 2012
necklace - oasap* // leather look leggings - missguided // boots - f&f
My favourite look of the three! Kind of miss how dark my hair was when I dyed it with a semi-permanent black to get rid of the ol' ombre. Anyway, I think this look is great and defiantly will be one I'll be a repeat offender in.

April 2012
tiedye tank - fashioninflux // tooth necklace - h&m
Check out the ol' ombre here! I really liked this look at the time, but never repeated it! I like the tiedye sticking out underneath, so maybe I will have to one day. This photograph is so horrible ha! Defiantly didn't have enough natural lighting! Lighting was the bane of my life - so thankful for my balcony now where I can be in the shade but outside (I always find photos come out better in the shade than in full throttle sunlight

Life according to Instagram

the place I work x 3
me being vain x3

the picture my 5 yr old brother drew on the ipad - too cute
my friends when they came to visit
me and my boyfriend at the beach

view of a street

I'm not one for Instagram posts all the time, and I really don't take enough photos to make it a weekly thing. However, I thought I'd share a few with you because someone asked me about where I work here in Mallorca, and wondered if I was some kind of rep, as in places like this the tourist industry is one of the largest I'm guessing! So yes I do work in the tourist industry - but I don't rep. I work in the place in the first row of these photos. It's a big port full of amazing yachts, and I work in the office of a company that charters (rents) some of these! I do some organisational things and talk to customers about the yachts and what they want to charter and so on... It was more of a "who you know not what you know" job, as I got the chance to apply because my boyfriends boss knows my now current boss.

I am enjoying my time here in Mallorca, and I do feel very lucky that my boyfriend had the opportunity to work here in his profession of choice (he's a golf pro and works at a golf course plus coaches golf on the side). But of course, it's not perfect, it does get a bit lonely here as all my friends and family live in the uk (they have and will visit though), and I'm still not very good at Spanish ha - but still, you got to take these opportunities when you´re only 22! I´ve done school, done living away at uni and now I´m living abroad in a such a beautiful, sunny and happy place! Okay I'll shut up about it now, promise!!

Oh what a difference a year makes

Lately I've noticed that I've been wearing quite a few pieces that I bought (and wore on my blog) about a year ago. So I thought that, in between other outfit posts, I'll do a little comparison to the different ways of worn said items.
So first up is this ASOS Tunic Top In Midnight Scene
 May 2012
On reflection, you can see it's not a very flattering shape! I literally received it in the mail, chucked it own, throw on a couple of accessories and left. So yes, this is my least favourite look. I'm not a big fan of the jewellery I wore with it either - it probably would have looked better without any.

July 2012
So, the next time I wore I wanted to add more shape to it. So I decided to tuck it into my beloved DIY levi shorts. I think it looks really cute like this! Especially with a nice tan, and the statement golf cuffs compliment this look better than some dark cluttered bracelets that I wore back in May 2012

April 2013
This time I wanted to show the dress in it's full glory, having not wore it in a while. But still wanted to add shape, so I nipped it in the waist with a belt. Again, I think this is a summer dress so for me personally I like it better with a tan and the peach lipstick which brings out some of the colours.

Living is Simple

jacket - newlook // top & trainers - primark // leggings - ebay
Simple look for a simple day. Monday is my only full day off so I'm going to post some parcels and hit the shops. I love living here in Mallorca, however I'm already planning my trip home over christmas ha - I have a five year old little brother who is the most amazing cheeky thing and I miss him a lot, along with my other family members and friends of course, but him especially as he is forever changing everyday and I don't like him growing up without me! Luckily, as my job is seasonal, like a lot of jobs here in Spain, I can go back to the uk for anything from a week to 6 months over winter. Unfortunately my boyfriend's job isn't seasonal so he can't join me in the uk, so hopefully if the flights are cheap enough I can make multiple trips back and forth. I want to make the most of this time off as me and my boyfriend are planning on living here in Mallorca for another year after this one, so it'll be nice to have a proper catch up with everyone before I'm off again to work another season abroad!

Elephants As Big As Whales

top - choies* // maxi skirt (actually a dress) - newlook // wrist cuffs - forever 21
As you might be able to tell, it's pretty cloudy and foggy here in Mallorca (with the occasional massive spouts of rain might I add). Mean while I see many a burnt shoulder on instagram and facebook from you guys in the uk, well talk about a turn of tables! I feel really sorry for people who have paid to have a sunny holiday on the beach... As it's not planning on getting any better until next Tuesday, and has been like this for the last three days, poor people!
